Wapakoneta JV T&F Competes in WBL Championships
CELINA- On Monday, the Wapakoneta Junior Varsity Track and Field teams competed in the Western Buckeye League Championships at Celina.
Defiance won the girls team crown with 110 points, while the Lady Redskins finished seventh out of ten schools with 22 points. On the boys side, Wapakoneta ended seventh with 19.33 points and Ottawa Glandorf topped the division with 174.50 points.
Individuals earning top ten performances were Caroline Fisher: Girls 100m Hurdles (3rd; 19.94), Elia Lehman: Boys 400m Dash (9th; 1:00.55), Ella Kohler: Girls 300m Dash (10th; 1:12.94), Lillith Lautzenheiser: Girls 800m Run (1st; 2:44.68), Ava Morris: Girls 800m Run (9th; 3:10.30), Christian Augsburger: Boys 3200m Run (5th; 11:52.90), Allison Steinke: Girls High Jump (6th; 3’ 10”), William Helmstetter: Boys High Jump (4th; 5’ 00”), Dylan Hartzog: Boys High Jump (6th; 4’ 10”), Carson Pummell: Boys Pole Vault (3rd; 9’ 00”), Shaelynn Varno: Girls Long Jump (4th; 13’ 05”), Evan Danaher: Boys Long Jump (5th; 17’ 01”), Trapper Elsass: Boys Long Jump (6th; 16’ 10.25”), and Lizzie Childress: Girls Discus Throw (8th; 70’ 09”).
The high schoolers will have their league meet on Wednesday and Friday.
