Houser Throws Perfect Game in 7-0 Win Over Lakers
WAPAKONETA- Daron Houser was dominant on the hill, as the right-hander rang up 17 strikeouts in Wapakoneta Junior ACME’s 7-0 perfect victory over Indian Lake on Monday at MercyHealth Field. The starter gave up zero hits and zero runs over a full seven innings, while walking none.
The home-standing Redskins scored two runs in the bottom of the first after Indian Lake committed an error and Josh Copeland doubled, each scoring one run. After Brady Burden hit into a fielder's choice in the next inning for another run, Drew Niekamp scored on a passed ball in the fourth to extend the lead to four. The Redskins would go on to take advantage of the visiting Lakers mistake, while limiting theirs to zero for the victory.
Offensively, Avram Long, Copeland, and Houser each collected two hits for Wapakoneta. Long, Copeland, Blake Rogers, Braeden Bowersock, and Burden each drove in a run.
