WAPAKONETA- The Auglaize County Fair roared to life Tuesday evening with a thrilling display of youthful energy and agricultural fun, as the much-loved Chicken, Sheep, Pig, and Calf Scramble captivated fairgoers from near and far. The event, a colorful highlight of the fair, showcased the agility, determination, and sheer joy of young participants as they competed in this traditional rural contest.
“This year's scramble was the biggest yet,” said Auglaize County Fair Board Member and organizer of the event, Mike Etzkorn. “It keeps growing every year and there's also a great spectator turnout as well.”
Following the lively chicken race for the youngsters, pigs were released into the soggy arena for several heats of action. Winning the race and receiving a monetary prize were Wyatt Wellman, followed by Audrey Pitts in second. Arya Sneary came home victorious in the sheep scramble, while Paeton Marsee finished runner-up.
